NEPAL SELF DEFENSE TRAINERS
In June 2011 Rita Sagemann contacted NMNW seeking Self-Defense training for an organization offering various services to women in Katmandu, Nepal.

NMNW was unable to promise a training intensive in Nepal in 2012 but invited Rita and 2 of her co-workers to attend the Nairobi training intensive scheduled for October 2011. NMNW offered a small travel stipend to help with their expenses. Rita accepted the offer and asked Kiran Bajracharja and Indira Ranamagar to attend the training with her. The obstacles to their participation were formidable.

With great courage and determination the three women organized their work and travel  requirements and attended the October training with 22 other women in Korogocho slum Kenya. Rita, Kiran and Indira became the first women ever certified as NMNW instructors.
